Fall Out and Dive In by Kaci Borowski
As the weather starts to cool, and fall inevitably takes over Austin, it’s as good a time as any to start planning where you’re going to hole up for the next few months. Dive Bar & Lounge — a hidden gem off 17th and Guadalupe — is a good start. Although still in its rookie year, Dive Bar is operating like a veteran by making each night one worth leaving the house for. Whether it’s hosting an indoor UT tailgate, bringing punk rock karaoke operation Karaoke Underground in for a (rowdy) monthly visit or letting you bring in your own vinyl to spin, the owners of Dive Bar are game to let you make the place feel like your own.
Not only home to guys singing the Pixies and people throwing the horns with feeling, Dive cleans up nice, too. The interior features revolving work from local artists and their menu boasts some pretty unique cocktails, such as the “Little Buffalo” made with Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka and mint. Head over and find a seat while you still can.
Open Monday – Saturday, 4pm – 2am, Sunday, 8pm – 2am
