Brittani Sonnenberg was raised across three continents and has worked as a journalist in Germany, China, and throughout Southeast Asia. She previously served as the editor of the Berlin Journal at the American Academy in Berlin. A graduate of Harvard, she received her MFA in fiction from the University of Michigan. Her nonfiction has appeared in Time, Associated Press, Minneapolis Star Tribune, and NPR Berlin. Her debut novel, Home Leave, was published by Grand Central and was selected as a New York Times Editor’s Choice. Her short stories have appeared in The O’Henry Prize Stories 2008, Ploughshares, Asymptote and elsewhere.
