It’s Time for The Drop-In — Long Center’s Free Summer Concert Series Delivers an Eclectic Mix

Local music on a 3D-printed stage

ACL Radio and the Long Center released a fantastic lineup for The Drop-In, a series of free community concerts. The showcase launched in 2021 to uphold Austin’s tradition of easy access to exceptional live music.

With genres spanning psychedelic hip-hop to indie pop to good ol’ rock ‘n’ roll, there’s a performance for everyone.

A few of the 21 talented local acts taking the outdoor stage this year include Good Looks, THEBROSFRESH, Chief Cleopatra, Urban Heat, Annabelle Chairlegs and Alejandro Escovedo.

The Long Center’s summer series kicked off on May 25. It runs every Thursday until August 10. Each Friday, the upcoming artist is announced and RSVPs open to the public the following Monday.

Once your seat on the lawn is secured, show up Thursday with blankets, beverages and friends in tow. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the show starts at 8 pm.

Food trucks and pre-show surprises keep the good times going at the festive weekday outing.

Set against the dazzling downtown skyline, the concerts also showcase the venue’s new 3D-printed performance pavilion. ICON created it and and unveiled it in March during South by Southwest.

The first of its kind in the world, it took 14 days to complete the unique structure. It’s inspired by the landscape and future design of El Cosmico in Marfa, Texas.

The Long Center The Drop-InSpend the summer connecting with fellow music lovers, catching your favorite Austin artists and discovering new reasons to love the city.

Capacity is limited for each performance, so visit the website to stay up-to-date on event announcements.
