Community Night Spotlight: Refugee Awareness

On January 22, join Thinkery for a Community Night to celebrate the refugee and immigrant communities in Austin. Everyone is welcome to be a part of this fun, FREE event at Thinkery! Experience a refugee’s journey through a simulation with Refugee Services of Texas and learn about what life is like in a refugee camp all the way through to life in the USA for those new to this country.
Also enjoy activities from RAICES, writing an encouraging carta de corazón (letter from the heart) to an immigrant family or child, explore the Hmong people’s journey to the U.S. with help from the Asian American Resource Center and make a felt flag from one of the countries represented by Austin’s refugee population with AISD Refugee Support Services.
