Hot Luck Festival Returns in 2022

It’s back! The third annual Hot Luck Festival returns May 26–29 to venues across Austin, with more of the amazing food, live music and top-notch talent that made the first two years so memorable.

The brainchild of Aaron Franklin, Guerilla Suit principal/Mohawk owner James Moody and Mike Thelin, co-founder of Feast Portland, Hot Luck was conceived as a celebration of everyday events – potlucks, tailgates, backyard barbecues.

The down-to-earth vibe and nostalgia set Hot Luck apart from other food festivals, as does the accessibility of its participants. Past talent includes Austin culinary luminaries like Yoshi Okai (Otoko), Michael Fojtasek (Olamaie), Kevin Fink and Tavel Joseph-Bristol (Emmer & Rye, Hestia, Canje) and award-winning chefs from across the U.S. and Mexico. On stage, diverse acts including the Black Pumas, Thurston Moore, Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band and Archers of Loaf provide post-prandial entertainment.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday, October 19th, with discounts on the coveted Whole Enchilada passes ($450), which include access to the Thursday night industry kickoff and main food events. Single-purchase tickets ($125-$215) talent will be announced in early 2022.

The family pack — kids under 12 get in free with the purchase of two adult Whole Enchilada passes — also returns, as well as special pricing for attendees ages 13-20.  All proceeds benefit the Southern Smoke Foundation. Created by Houston chef Chris Shepherd, the non-profit provides emergency relief funds and advocacy for members of the food and beverage industry.
