PRESENCE: Opening Reception

February 29, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Close out Black History Month with the Carver Museum and celebrate the opening of its new core exhibition, The African American Presence in 19th Century Texas. From African civilizations to bonded servitude, to a precious but ever so fragile freedom, the history of Black people in Texas is a remarkable story of determination to gain, celebrate, and manifest our full rights as citizens. On February 29, enjoy small bites, refreshments and live music as this timely American story is unveiled.
