Kick off Earth Week with Rowing Dock and friends on Friday, April 19th for Rowing Dock’s third annual community wide Lake and Land Clean Up along Lady Bird Lake! Last year, over 1400 volunteers removed 8,000 pounds of trash from lakes and green spaces. Over 1,800 volunteers are expected to pick up trash by boat or on foot by walking the trails at Rowing Dock and Epic SUP, or on foot at Festival Beach. The event is hosted by Rowing Dock, The Trail Conservancy and Epic SUP, and is free to community volunteers, with advance registration required.
All volunteers will receive a participant t-shirt and several goodies from local Austin brands. Prizes from Gossamer Gear will be awarded to volunteers that bring back the most trash and the weirdest Austin item. To fuel the cleanup, several local businesses will be on-site to provide refreshments and grub such as Thundercloud Subs, Richard’s Rainwater, Juiceland, Sno Beach, Easy Tiger, Lick Honest Ice Creams and other Austin staples.
