Bacalar is excited to welcome a dear and talented friend, Alexana Cabrera, as the next guest Chef for the Bacalar Masa Series.
Alexana Cabrera was born and raised in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. Chef Alexana leads her team as Chef de Cuisine at the critically acclaimed and nationally lauded Mixtli in San Antonio, Texas. Mixtli is currently a finalist for the James Beard Foundation award for Outstanding Restaurant. She has also partnered with Chefs Rico Torres and Diego Galicia of Mixtli, in a new project that opened earlier this year, Greenhouse Coffee and Wholesome Foods, which was named as one of the top 10 coffee shops in San Antonio.
Guests can expect a very special 5 course meal inspired by Maya style Guatemalan dishes where Chef Alexana hails from.
