Kendra Scott Retail to Go Plans Announced as Texas Retailers Reopen During Coronavirus Pandemic

The Austin-based jewelry mogul is part of a strike force to reopen the Texas economy

When Texas Governor Greg Abbot announced that the state’s economy would begin a gradual re-opening process following the shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he named business leaders to a special advisory committee as part of a strike force that will inform how it will be done. One of them is Kendra Scott.

The Austin-based jewelry mogul and philanthropist has released plans for opening shop doors to customers – just in time for Mother’s Day – with the safety of her company’s employees and shoppers as a priority. All three Austin locations will open, along with 21 of 23 stores in Texas.

“As a retail business, Kendra Scott does not deliver a product their customer needs, but a product she wants and that brings her joy,” the company said in a press release on Monday, announcing the plans to reopen April 24. “With this new curbside initiative, Texas customers can enjoy a new and easy-to-access way to reach the brand.”

Beginning Friday, shoppers can visit kendrascott.com to see what’s available from the various collections and check whether the pieces they want are available in stores. Customers will then call the store and place an order, processing payment over the phone. Pickup hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day. Customers will receive a number to text when they arrive at the store, and a Kendra Scott employee will hand off purchases in a signature yellow box through contact-free delivery to shoppers’ cars, with options to put the package directly into the trunk.

Kendra Scott has also announced their health and safety measures in conjunction with reopening. Among them, retail employees will receive health screenings, including temperature checks before their shifts, use social distancing guidelines and wear gloves and masks while working.

Kendra Scott previously announced that a portion of proceeds from the sale of their Everlyne Bracelets will go to Feeding America, whose mission is to provide food for people who are struggling to make ends meet. Kendra Scott also donated materials to volunteer groups to sew masks for hospitals in Austin, New Orleans, New York and California.
