Raven + Lily Takes a Stand for Style, Sustainability and Social Justice
The lifestyle brand empowers women and their communities around the world

Raven + Lily’s mission to give back to women and their communities around the globe is visible in all aspects of their business, starting with the gorgeous products sold by the Austin-based brand.
The chic, down-to-earth styles of leather bags and wallets, jewelry and home goods reflect the vibrant cultures of the female artisans who produce them. These makers, who are primarily from East Africa and India, are employed by independent partners that provide steady income and invest in education and social justice in these communities.
“We consider ourselves citizens of the world, so inclusion is very important to us,” says Raven + Lily CEO Kinda Lincoln, whose company is a proud member of the Fair Trade Federation.
Through the Raven + Lily Giveback Program, the brand also contributes 1 percent of all sales to organizations and efforts that align with their values, including sustainability and empowering women.
“I’m really excited about the partnership,” Lincoln says. “It was important for us to be able to align on our sustainability and on our social impact, which is what they provide.”
The summer collection with Verishop allows customers to shop curated pieces that were crafted mindfully, with recycled and ethically-sourced materials.
From the Addis Backpack to the Mara Tote, the collection first launched with seven bags that are hand-stitched and made out of veg-tanned leather so the bags will get softer and more supple over time.
Lincoln’s favorite piece from the collection so far is the Mara Tote.
“I love the black Mara tote with the white hand stitching,” Lincoln says. “It’s perfect for summer because it’s big enough that you can fit in most of what you’d want to take if you’re going for a walk or a hike or picnic. It’s beautiful, but it’s also very functional.”
Raven + Lily products are designed for everyday use, but also to show off an effortless style. “We want our customers to feel very capable, very confident and very much at ease when wearing our products,” Lincoln says.
