Paramount Theatre Unveils Must-See Fall Season of Music, Film and Literary Legends in Austin

The Paramount Theatre has an extraordinary mix of music, comedy, film and literary events planning for Austin audiences this fall. From chart-topping musicians and Grammy winners to bestselling authors and film stars, the 2025 fall season offers something for all.

For Literary Enthusiasts:

Bestselling author Elizabeth Gilbert kicks off the literary lineup on Sept. 25 with an intimate conversation about her forthcoming memoir, “All the Way to the River: Love, Loss, and Liberation.” Investigative journalist Bob Woodward brings decades of Washington insight to the stage on Oct. 8, in conversation with Evan Smith. Fans of storytelling will also enjoy The Moth Mainstage on Dec. 10.

For Music Lovers:

October and November bring celebrated musicians to Austin. Lukas Nelson takes the stage for a special three-night run Sept. 28–30. Lionel Richie shares stories from his new memoir, Truly: An Evening of Lionel Richie with Friends,” in a Q&A moderated by Bobby Bones on Oct. 1. November highlights include Aly & AJ on Nov. 1, Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy on Nov. 12, Texas music icon Ray Wylie Hubbard on Nov. 15, and Neko Case on Nov 25. December rounds out with Marc Broussard and Taylor Rae on Dec. 4, Luna with The Octopus Project on Dec. 5, Grammy-winning guitarist Christone “Kingfish” Ingram on Dec. 6, and guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel on Dec. 7. John Lodge of The Moody Blues performs “Singer in a Rock and Roll Band” on Dec. 14.

For Film Fans:

Catch “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” on 70mm, screening Oct. 3 and Oct. 5, or celebrate the 30th anniversary of “Showgirls” with Elizabeth Berkley on Oct. 9. Cult film fans won’t want to miss John Waters on Oct. 17, hosting a double feature of “Polyester” with Odorama and a live introduction to “Cecil B. Demented.”

For Families:

Kids can delight in “La Maleta de Maebelle” (Maebelle’s Suitcase), a bilingual adaptation from Austin’s Glass Half Full Theatre, on Sept. 28, and “Sugar Skull! A Día de Muertos Musical Adventure” on Oct. 13, celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
