Austin Trail of Lights Fun Run Returns
Get a first look at this year’s Trail of Lights display along a 2.1-mile course and then celebrate at a Finish Line Festival

The Austin Trail of Lights Fun Run offers a fantastic opportunity to get a first look at the magic that takes over Zilker Park during the holiday season.
On December 7, runners, walkers or folks who just want to take an evening stroll, can make their way through the 2.1-mile course that starts at the iconic Zilker Christmas Tree and winds its way through this year’s Trail of Lights display.
Festive holiday attire is encouraged – and there’s even a costume contest – but participants will likely have their eyes set on the more than 2 million lights, glowing Christmas trees and other holiday scenes that illuminate the park.
This year runners can pick their start times every half hour starting at 6 p.m. The run ends at the Finish Line Festival, where participants can grab a free beer or hot cocoa, join a DJ dance party with holiday tunes by Bird Peterson, refuel at food trucks or check out a fitness expo.
Tickets for the Austin Trail of Lights Fun Run are $37 for adults and $20 for kids 11 and under. For $75 (or $35 for kids) you can be a Fun Run VIP and get access to any start time, a VIP lounge at the Finish Line Festival, a nacho bar and drink tickets. Teams of 15 or more get a 10 percent discount on adult registration. Onsite parking is available for $15.
The Austin Trail of Lights will remain open from December 10 to 23, nightly from 7 to 10 p.m.
