historic Clarksville

Thomajan & Ladner Group

Lisa Matulis-Thomajan & Jennifer Ladner | Compass

As the oldest surviving freedmans town, Clarksville is dedicated to preserving its history and community ties. Residents of this charming and historic neighborhood can expect to enjoy the epitome of affluent living through its walkability, dining options, art galleries, myriad of museums, and annual events.

For those interested in putting down roots here, look no further than Clarksville experts Jennifer Ladner and Lisa Matulis-Thomajan. Having worked together since 2016 as the sales team behind the luxury condominium development, 70 Rainey and the upcoming Conrad Residences Austin, this dynamic duo brings a lot to the table in regards to resources, experience and their unique approach to real estate.

Jennifers background in finance and accounting coupled with Lisas entrepreneurial background (most recently as owner of Delish Bakery) enables them to not only help their clients understand the value of their current home or future purchase, but to also put a strategic marketing plan in place or find new and innovative ways to search off-market opportunities. Together, they keep their fingers on the pulse of the real estate industry so that they are best-equipped to help their clients achieve their real estate goals.

Aside from experience and an impressive work ethic, they also bring an honest, caring and optimistic attitude. Typically one of the largest investments and emotional transactions, it is never lost on Jennifer and Lisa how much of an honor it is to help someone find or sell their home.

What sets Clarksville apart from other neighborhoods?
Jennifer – The accessibility and walkability of the Clarksville neighborhood is like no other place in Austin. Being so close to Downtown and with easy access to MoPac, you have all of Austin at your fingertips.

Lisa – Clarksville gives you the best of both worlds – a little bit of downtown living where you can walk to some of the citys best restaurants while also offering the feel of an actual neighborhood where you know your neighbors.

Clarksville is known for its walkability. What are some of your favorite places to stroll to?
Jennifer – I love grabbing a coffee and a bite from Swedish Hill before making my way around the neighborhood to look at the homes. With Clarksville being such a historic area, you can see it all when it comes to architecture – from small craftsman-style bungalows and modern new construction homes to multi-family developments.

What do you enjoy outside of real estate?
Jennifer – Life is all about balance so outside of real estate you will find me spending time with my family. I am my kidsbiggest cheerleader so I can often be seen at the soccer field with August or taking road trips for Juliets cheer competitions.

Lisa – As empty nesters, my husband, Stuart and I have been doing as much travel as the last couple of years has allowed, but more so we are rediscovering the city in new and different ways. Our daughter, Zayne works for Austin FC and we are also season ticket holders so you can always find us cheering on Verde! We are also in the restaurant business and are foodies at heart, so we love checking out all the wonderful new restaurants that continue to make their way to our city.

Tacos, tequila and a tasteful vibe made this Clarksville-based restaurant the perfect locale for Jennifer and Lisa’s fun photoshoot. As the institution’s second location, Taco Flats Clarksville promises to change lives with their frozen drinks. Jennifer and Lisa suggest the Spicy Frozen Margarita made of 100% agave tequila, triple sec, hand-squeezed lime juice and is topped off with a fresh jalapeño.

Clarksville has some of the best restaurants and patios. You could eat breakfast, lunch and dinner here without ever having to leave the neighborhood.

eccentric Bouldin Creek

Wende Parks

Broker Associate | Moreland Properties

It’s the birthplace of the city’s famed “Keep Austin Weird” slogan and the ultimate destination for some of the most popular restaurants and dive Mexican joints in the capital. A hidden gem, Bouldin Creek borders the edge of Lady Bird Lake and downtown while providing convenient access and walkability for its residents. Displaying everything that makes Austin cool, it offers a laid-back style, good mix of people and cute bungalows with historic vibes. Providing the best of its trendy setting and great outdoors, Bouldin Creek is a highly desirable area for professionals, artists and creatives alike. As a long-term resident, Wende Parks knows a thing or two about the neighborhood and calling it home.

Trading in the runway for a closing table, Texas-native Wende transitioned from international modeling to real estate in 2003 when she bought her first home in Bouldin Creek. Since then, she has enjoyed sharing the friendliness and creativity of Austin while appreciating that no two transactions are ever alike. Known for her hustle, honesty and professionalism, Wende utilizes her creativity and expertise to consistently remain a top Broker while exploring possibilities and optimizing outcomes for her clients.

Best food truck in Bouldin Creek?
We feature a thriving food trailer scene that highlights amazing culinary skilled entrepreneurs. One of my favorites is El Primo for their breakfast tacos!

Favorite places or businesses within walking distance?
Austin’s crown jewel, the Hike and Bike Trail, is my all-time favorite walkable destination for Bouldin! Then there’s Word of Mouth bakery for their ridiculously good monkey bread and avocado toast, and, of course, Elizabeth Street Café for their Sunday brunch. My favorite is the ginger sausage with sticky rice, followed by crepes with Nutella. Holy smokes, it is good!

What do you enjoy outside of real estate?
I love spending time outdoors and find myself doing some pretty extreme endurance challenges with my fiancé, a retired Navy SEAL. We are currently training for a 50-miler in the mountains of Patagonia for the Fall.

The sunny dining rooms and shady garden patio of Elizabeth Street Cafe made the perfect venue for Wende’s photoshoot. A Vietnamese cafe and French bakery, residents appreciate the delightful food and fun ambiance.

Favorite aspect of living downtown?
The simplicity of living. No yard, no roof, no pool maintenance. I can walk to almost all of my favorite spots and run into friends and colleagues regularly.

Known for its vibrant nightlife, what are 3 places you’d recommend and why?
Codependent Cocktails and Coffee is a great place to meet with friends and co-workers for an après-work libation. Ranch 616 for a Ranch Water and the guarantee of running into an old friend. J Carver’s for the best steak in town.

You’ve been in sales since you were 6 years old. What have you learned throughout the years?
The best salesperson is one that helps someone purchase what they need versus selling them something that they might not need or care for.

Our slogan is “Homegrown in Austin.” Grounded in Goodness. To buy a home is to plant roots in a community. My relationships with my clients are rooted in authenticity, trust and respect. I am also a very grounded person with strong family roots who values deep connections with people and places.

As a coffee and ice cream aficionado, what are some of your go-to destinations for an icy treat or cup of joe?

Runaway Luna coffee shop in the Hill Country Galleria, Greater Goods Coffee, and Amy’s Ice Creams! I recommend Mexican Vanilla with ginger snaps!

Outside of real estate, what do you enjoy?

My husband, Brian, and our 3 children give my life depth, color, and meaning beyond what I could have ever imagined. Being a mom is challenging and fulfilling. It makes me laugh and cry, often at the same time. My family makes me strive to be the best version of myself every day and they love and support me unconditionally, even when I totally miss the mark!

Sipping bold espressos, savoring feel-good vibes and connecting with others is something laid-back Wendi truly enjoys. So, it just made sense for her to select Runaway Luna Coffeehouse & Lifestyle Boutique for her photoshoot venue. Check out their new location across from Cafe Blue in the Galleria.

enchanting Lake Austin

Kumara Wilcoxon

Realtor® | Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty

Imagine walking out the back door and hopping aboard your boat to enjoy an evening gliding across the gentle waves of Lake Austin. Hard to beat, lakeside living is like no other with a tranquil, fun ambiance, diversity of homes lining the banks, and close proximity to the city’s center. While not a reality for everyone, this is the luxurious lifestyle that Kumara Wilcoxon has come to specialize in during her 19-year real estate career. She understands that experiencing Austin from the water is what makes settling down on Lake Austin so special, whether viewing the Dell Match Play, hanging out in Party Cove or appreciating fireworks on the Fourth of July. It is an enchanting way of life that never gets old.

With her long-standing presence in the area, Kumara is well-connected with agents and a majority of local homeowners, which allows her to be privy to inventory that is both on and off the market. Her competitive spirit drives her to find exactly what her clients are looking for while her understanding of off-market comps and negotiating skills ensure client homes are priced appropriately and that her buyers secure properties at a fair price. All of which are essential for today’s fast-paced environment.
(512) 423 5035 |

A quick stopover at West Harbour Marina isn’t out of the ordinary for Kumara and her family. So, when she was asked about a location for her photoshoot, she knew it had to include the luxury and comfort of the marina paired with Lake Austin in the background.

Favorite ways to get on the water?
We keep our boat at West Harbour Marina, so that is usually our number one way of jumping on the water.

Best restaurants in the area to enjoy the views?
I am so excited for the revamped Ski Shores by McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality! Of course, we love Hula Hut for yummy cocktails and good vibes.

Favorite way to spend time with your kids on Lake Austin?
When it starts to warm up, we love to get in a couple hours of wake surfing daily!

Ranked one of the best spas in U.S., what are a few treatments at Lake Austin Spa Resort that you suggest?
It has a magical ambiance so I always try to spend the full day when I am there. I love the Regal facial and the Muscle Tension Melt massage!

quirky Westgate

Brooke Roeder

Alive with the quirky vibe that South Austin is notorious for, this small, diverse neighborhood radiates kindness and is home to a varied group of singles, couples, and young families. Given its proximity to downtown and easy access to all the perks of 78704, Westgates attainable price point and value are undeniable. Just ask local real estate expert and long-time resident, Brooke Roeder, whose intimate working knowledge of the market makes her an ideal partner for any potential and current Westgater.

While she serves all areas of Central Austin, she has been a South Austinite for over 20 years. A huge fan of the Westgate area specifically, she is out and about in the community daily, whether pricing homes, assisting buyers or simply enjoying the lifestyle and amenities it affords. Where did “B3E Creative” come from?
Family is at the center of all I do, so I love to include little nods to my kids in the names of my business ventures. B for me and 3E for Emerson, Esme and Eames.

What do you enjoy outside of real estate?
We’re an outside family! We live a few houses down from a greenbelt entrance so we spend a lot of time hiking on the greenbelt and hanging out at the park.

Westgate has great nightlife. What are your go-to spots?
Nightlife is springing up all over 78745 these days. Some of my favorites are The Little Darlin’, The Far Out Lounge, tons of fun stuff in the St. Elmo area and, if you want to venture further south, Moontower and Indian Roller to be outdoors.

Favorite business in the Westgate Shopping Center?
It’s hard to choose but Skandinavia has great modern furniture and my kids adore Whole Earth and popping into the Austin Bouldering Project.

As one of Brooke’s all-time favorite venues in the Westgate area, Radio Coffee & Beer was a must for her photoshoot location. Being able to indulge in their amazing coffee while enjoying the perfect ambiance and delicious scents wafting from the food trucks was just an added bonus.

renowned Zilker

The Giles Group

Each year, droves of Austinites and visitors alike gather at Zilker Park to immerse themselves in the live music scene showcased during the acclaimed Austin City Limits Music Festival. Recognized for such outdoor attractions, a thriving nightlife and an abundance of greenery, Zilker is one of the most coveted regions in the city. Overflowing with character, it offers everything from historic homes to sleek new townhouses. For an authentic perspective of what it would be like to live in the neighborhood, reach out to the local experts, the Giles Group.

While experienced in many of Austins suburbs, the Giles Group holds a special place in their hearts for Zilker, specifically their fearless leader, Wade Giles. A resident for many years, he admires the fact that the various types of architecture is only outnumbered by the diversity of its residents. Just as the area is eclectic and people-oriented, so are the Giles Group members. More than merely selling a house, they invest in the lives of the people behind each door and pride themselves on being a resource long after the transaction. Whether its tears of joy or shouts of laughter over an offer being accepted and a house selling above list price, they are continually focused on exceeding client expectations all while having fun together.
(512) 646 6412 |

Matching their playful and fun energy, Peter Pan Mini Golf was the perfect location for the Giles Group to have their photo taken! Austin’s quirkiness really comes to life at this magical course located just outside of downtown. Each of the two 18-hole courses are jam-packed with the charm that Austin became known for.

What makes Zilker unique?
People move here for the amazing homes, the schools, and the location – but they stay because of their neighbors. Whether you’ve lived here for 5 minutes or 50 years, the sense of community and kindness to one another is unmatched.

Do y’all have a favorite restaurant in the area?
Dinner on the Aviary patio is always delicious and their wine selection is fantastic.

Wade, what is the best place to grab a cup of Joe?
My dogs (Sport and Bill) and I frequently walk down to the café at Carpenters Hall on Saturday mornings. I love the coffee and they adore the treats the baristas throw over the counter!

Where do your pups prefer to frequent?
Cliché or not, Zilker Park will always and forever be their home away from home.

I’m an adventure junkie; travel, triathlons, outdoor activities — you name it.

Chris and his rescue pup, Chip, chose to be photographed at one of their favorite spots: Pease Park. The Blue Trees by Konstantin Dimopoulos, an art installation designed to help visualize what might be lost due to deforestation, is visible in the background.

delightful Rosedale

Hillary Deck

Voted in 2018 by Niche as the state’s best neighborhood and place in Austin to raise a family, Rosedale has experienced vitality and renewal since its humble beginnings in the 1860s. A farm and dairyland at its inception, today’s Rosedale is truly a place to live, work and play. The wide variety of amenities within walking distance, ranging from shopping and grocery stores to parks and restaurants, have created a haven for its original owners, single professionals and young families. One such resident and area expert, Hillary Deck, understands the appeal and consistently represents clients interested in moving here.

While a third-generation Austinite, Hillary originally began her real estate career in Chicago. Even then, during the recession, she was in the top 10% of agents in the city. Six years ago, she moved back to Texas to be close to family. She understands first-hand the intricacies and challenges that come with moving to Austin, which allows her to easily guide families in similar situations. Today, she remains a seasoned negotiator who thinks outside the box and develops personalized strategies in order for her clients to achieve their goals.

Chic and airy, Hillary selected Rosedale Kitchen and Bar as the backdrop for her photo. A neighborhood favorite, Rosedale serves vibrantly healthy dishes mixed with modern comfort foods and Texas flare. Hillary often dines at Rosedale Kitchen with family, friends and clients.

Why real estate?
My parents renovated historical homes in the Swiss Avenue historic district of Dallas. So real estate, homeownership and restoration are just in my blood.

Tell us about your time on HGTV’s House Hunters.
It was very fun! The HGTV team is so professional. I was on the show in 2013 and 2020 but hope to shoot another episode soon — so if anyone is interested…

You mentioned that Rosedale has some of the best parks.
Absolutely! Ramsey Park is beautiful, large and has multiple shaded play areas. Shoal Creek’s trail is an easy way to get downtown, enjoy a green space and be active, right in the heart of the city.

What do you enjoy outside of real estate?
I love to spend time with my kids, husband and 2 dogs. We enjoy going to concerts, music festivals and discovering new restaurants.

tranquil Travis Heights

Carl Shurr

An eclectic array of homes from the 1920s, 50s and 60s intermingle with a mix of modern new construction homes to shape highly-coveted Travis Heights. Nestled just south of downtown Austin and Lady Bird Lake, the neighborhood is dotted with winding streets and towering live oaks. While boasting close proximity to the trendy and bustling SoCo scene, Travis Heights offers the energy of the Congress Avenue strip while being just steps away from peaceful outdoor spaces and quiet streets. It is this laid-back vibe and convenient location that has drawn and captivated Travis Heights specialist, Carl Shurr.

As a resident of the Travis Heights neighborhood for the past decade, Carl has seen nearly every home listed for sale. “I want to help sellers price their homes to reach their full market potential while also helping buyers quickly assess the market and find the home and lifestyle they desire.”As a consistent top 1% producer in Austin real estate sales, Carl relies on his previous experience as a Financial Advisor to provide genuine, sound advice when buying or selling a property. He seeks to anticipate problems, find solutions and help his clients realize their home buying and selling goals with minimal stress in our fast-paced real estate market. (512) 944 5977 |

What sets Travis Heights apart from other neighborhoods?
The peaceful energy of Travis Heights in such close proximity to Downtown Austin and South Congress is rare. I have yet to find another neighborhood so close to the action, but with such a zen, laid-back, nature-oriented vibe.

Favorite ways to stay active outdoors?
Every morning, rain or shine, I take my dogs, Dude and Rocky, for long walks in Travis Heights. We typically stroll through Stacy Park and along Blunn Creek, but often venture into other parts of the neighborhood as well. I also enjoy the tennis courts in Stacy Park and nearby South Austin Tennis Center.

Best parks or venues to stretch your legs?
I love being able to jump on the Lady Bird Lake boardwalk to go for a run so easily. The boardwalk is a very short walk from most points in Travis Heights.

A serene escape where Carl frequently walks his dogs, Dude and Rocky, Blunn Creek Greenbelt just made sense for his backdrop. Set along a creek, this wooded green space is a short, urban stroll that leads under an old bridge and, later, over a picturesque one.

peaceful Garrison Park

Lilly Rockwell

Located in the quiet suburbs while remaining close to the amenities of downtown, Garrison Park offers an interesting mix of newer residences, condominiums and older ranch-style homes that co-exist beautifully. This South Austin neighborhood is ideal for families and those with dogs. For pets, there are numerous shops, services and walking trails. Parents and children, on the other hand, will appreciate shaded parks and exciting activities including Altitude Trampoline Park and Westgate Lanes Bowling Alley. As a resident for over 7 years, Lilly Rockwell is knowledgeable about the Garrison Park lifestyle and is always excited to introduce newcomers to the area.

As a former journalist, she isn’t afraid to ask questions on behalf of her clients. Lilly understands that an enormous amount of research goes into advising buyers and sellers. Unlike the stereotypical “salesy” Realtor®, Lilly informs clients if it’s a bad time to sell and if a house is a money pit. Focused on lessening the stresses of moving, she offers sound advice, helps pay for staging, suggests vetted vendors and covers move-out cleaning costs.
(512) 413 1975 |

Featuring unique home accents, artwork and items made from living plants, Articulture Designs has always been a go-to for Lilly when purchasing closing gifts for clients. Add in the fact that it’s located right inside Garrison Park and you’ve got yourself the perfect location for a photoshoot!

You haven’t eaten all day. Where do you go?
There are some great family-owned restaurants in the area that are under the radar. Casa Garcia makes its own tortillas on the spot. Asiana is one of Austin’s best Indian restaurants. Cuba512 because good Cuban food is hard to find here!

As an avid marathon runner, what is your go-to location for training and warming up?
I spend a lot of time at the Crockett High School track. The school is flexible about community members using it, and the track is really well-maintained and mostly empty! There are also some fantastic trails in nearby Sunset Valley.

Any favorite hobbies outside of real estate?
Running, reading, book club, and storytelling in all its forms. Most of my money is spent on traveling and personal home renovation projects. I just painted the interior of my home and installed new floors, and that’s a fun time in my book!

classic Westover Hills

Best spots to enjoy quality time with friends and family?
Kicking it at our houses, cul-de-sacs and backyards, hanging out at JCC or Loewy Park, and playing sports at Murchison.

What do you enjoy outside of real estate?
My family! They are my life and nothing else comes close. I have the 3 best kids and coolest wife in the land! Other than that, I spend time with friends, work out, play basketball, listen to music, and eat salads.

“There’s no place like home” might just have been the logic behind Adam’s decision to shoot outside his personal residence in Westover Hills. With family at the heart of everything he does, he also knew he wanted to share the spotlight with his three children.

Eberly is a staple in the area and, thus, the perfect location for Tia’s shoot. More than a collection of dining and thinking spaces, the business was named after Angelina Eberly who fought to preserve Austin as the Capital of Texas; a reminder that this city is worth fighting for.

Besides real estate, what do you do for fun?
Outside of real estate, I am typically spending time with my friends and family. I love riding my bike around town, trying new restaurants, going on walks, or hosting gatherings at my house.

What local restaurant features the bet patio?
Loro – I love their outdoor space and everything on their menu is fantastic!

Where can you find the best beer in town?
Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. – beer and pizza under beautiful oak trees? Yes, please!

Favorite restaurant with a unique atmosphere?
Bouldin Acres has a fun and unique atmosphere that is kid and dog friendly. They also have the softest t-shirts in their store. You won’t be disappointed!

serene Allandale

Julia Mistler

Old, mid-century modern homes set alongside new construction residences intertwine along quiet streets to create a masterpiece located in central Austin. Family-oriented and convenient to downtown and the Domain, Allandale offers nearly everything a person could possibly need along the Burnet corridor itself. With a generous slice of green space, residents can enjoy biking and running trails as well as take advantage of a little league field, basketball and tennis courts, a pool and park. For a more in-depth look into the neighborhood, there is no one better to turn to than local real estate expert Julia Mistler.

A proud Austinite since 2005, she holds a deep appreciation for Allandale and the family-friendly vibe that it exudes. Whether working with a buyer, seller or corporation, Julia enjoys tackling problems and finding solutions, even when that means searching for diamonds in the rough. By consistently going above and beyond, from recommending contractors for updates or pediatricians, swim teachers and preschools for the kids, she thrives on helping her clients turn their house into a home.

What is it about real estate that appeals to you?
I love meeting new people and forming long-term relationships with them!

Any favorite family-friendly destinations in Allandale?
I recommend Phil’s Ice House for a family outing, Lick Ice Cream for dessert, and Northwest Park for biking and spending time with family.

Known as a foodie hot spot, what is a restaurant in the area that you recommend folks visit?
Fonda San Miguel is my favorite restaurant in the area! I love the interior, the Mexican food and the collection of folk art that changes seasonally.

What do you enjoy outside of real estate?
I enjoy cheering on my kids during their sports and dance events, as well as walking my dog, Lula, and doing Pilates at Castle Hill gym. We are also always checking out the restaurant and music scene around Austin.

Whether it’s her beaming smile or ability to find a diamond in the rough for her clients, Julia loves nothing more than making others around her smile. And that was the objective behind her decision to shoot at Shoal Creek Nursery. A staple and hidden gem in Allandale, Shoal features a welcoming facade and gorgeous selection of florals that are sure to brighten anyone’s day.

With real estate, what are you most passionate about?
Everyone’s life is a story and it’s just about moving to that next chapter. With your home being such a central focus, I’m essentially helping my clients transition to that next chapter of their life. That is what I’m the most passionate about.

Dripping Springs is home to a quaint downtown with great shopping. What shops do you recommend?
You can’t go wrong popping in and out of each store because they are all so unique! I do, however, have to shout-out Style and Beauty by Priscilla, an adorable little boutique that offers award-winning medical spa treatments. It’s so important that we all feel confident in our own skin!

What is your favorite way to cool off in the summer?
Hamilton Pool is always cool and crisp, and the area is breathtaking with a 50- foot waterfall. I just enjoy getting outside to appreciate God’s handiwork.

scenic Balcones & Highland Park West

Trey McWhorter

Rolling hills, towering live oaks, and panoramic city and lake views abound in this collection of communities developed from the early 50’s to late 80’s. Bordered on the west by Mount Bonnell Road and on the east by Mopac, Highland Park West / Balcones Area is distinguished by cool mid-century modern (MCM) architecture, spectacular views and lush landscape. Real estate professional Trey McWhorter first fell in love with the area after driving iconic Balcones Drive his freshman year at The University of Texas.

Following his appreciation for great architecture, Trey and his family settled down in Highland Park West, even serving on the board to coordinate events and activities for several years. He currently serves as the Historic Landmark Commissioner for District 10. He eventually transitioned from the high-tech industry to real estate. Today, he utilizes his analytical, organized and proactive approach to minimize client stress and uncertainty and ensure that they are well-educated on the market, home values and how to achieve their goals.

Best places to take in the city skyline and lake vistas?
Mt. Bonnell is the most well-known public spot to see spectacular lake, hill-country and sunset views. But some of the best views are from the backyards and living rooms of many of the wonderful homes here. I started to make a list of streets and it was just too long… so many homes here have incredible views.

Any favorite restaurants in the are we should know of?
Chez Zee for awesome desserts and a delicious weekend brunch! Russell’s Bakery for the best cinnamon rolls and gluten-free pumpkin bread. JuiceLand is a welcome addition with great smoothies and juices. Or take Hancock Drive east to all the great food on Burnet Road!

Tell us about some of the non-profits you support.
Preservation Austin is all about “saving the good stuff”, like the city’s historically significant places. Mid-Tex-Mod advocates for modernist architecture in Central Texas, where many great mid-century modern homes are located. YoungLife is a worldwide Christian ministry focused on middle school through college-age kids.

An avid photographer, Trey knew Mount Bonnell would be the perfect backdrop for his portrait. One of the highest points in Austin, it stands at 781 feet above sea level with breathtaking views of the city and Lake Austin.

welcoming Hyde Park

Tammy Young

A bubble in its own right, this small town within a big city offers a walkable lifestyle and a grounded, authentic culture. Whether Prius driver or Tesla owner, all walks of life are welcomed. In short, Hyde Park is a “do you” type of neighborhood. While occasionally identified with college life and red silo cups, local expert and resident, Tammy Young is quick to note that she has never been woken by a raucous party. In her experience, it’s more of a supportive community where neighbors keep an eye on the homes, bring over meals when least expected, and invite each other over for an afternoon drink on the porch.

Calling Hyde Park home since 2010, Tammy left behind a fashion career in Los Angeles and Paris, France to raise a family and pursue real estate. Since 2016, her team, SEED Property Group has closed more than $80 million worth of transactions in her neighborhood alone. More than just aware of the value of the homes and market, Tammy also has an innate understanding of why buyers purchase here, knows the ins and outs of securing building permits, and is able to easily re-imagine an old house to accommodate modern lifestyles.
(512) 559 8833 |

Loving the vibe of the Commodore Perry Estate, Tammy knew that it would make the perfect backdrop for her photoshoot. Here, it’s about being authentic, cool and inviting; all words that also describe Tammy!

Best place to grab a quick meal?
As a busy mom, I am thankful for the local restaurants in Hyde Park where, in a time crunch, we can grab a table for 5 and sit down for a family meal. Asti, Julio’s and Curra’s are our faves. I am also thankful and indebted to Fresh Plus – they have saved many a meal or morning rush when I was out of a key ingredient.

Speaking of kids, what do they like most about the area?
My teenagers enjoy the freedom and independence that comes with an urban neighborhood (though we have an army of fellow parents always watching over them). My youngest, who is in 1st grade, loves the goats and chickens on Avenue H, trinket garden on Avenue F, Engine No 9 at the fire station on Speedway and Shipe Park where he tries out tennis.

As Austin’s first suburb in 1891, how has it changed?
Many of the homes have the same façade but have evolved to accommodate 2022 life. Hyde Parkers are out and about in our neighborhood – not just in their cars – I like to think that is similar to how it was 120 years ago.

Life is all about taking little moments to enjoy the scenery. Here, in the western corner of Travis County, a soothing contrast to the boisterous Austin metro awaits. Beautifully situated on the south bank of Lake Travis, Lakeway is a resort community with marinas, golf courses, tennis courts, a 65-mile-long lake and hundreds of acres of parkland, trails and greenbelts. (512) 657 4033 |

Do you have any favorite ways to get on the water?
Most of my clients own a boat slip or dock so, depending on the level of the lake, there are many areas and activities to be enjoyed. The Yacht Club has its own marina and boat slips. For those who don’t have their own, I suggest checking Volente Beach, a boutique waterpark on the shores of Lake Travis!

What are the best waterfront dining options available?
Canyon Grille Rough Hollow is one of my favorites! Also, when people come in from out of town, I always take them to The Oasis. Being the Sunset Capital of the World, Oasis features numerous decks and vistas to choose from.

Outside of real estate, what do you enjoy?
I love spending time with my children and grandkids. Something else I thoroughly enjoy is exploring. Whether abroad or in the state of Texas, I always love seeing what is waiting just around the corner.

The perfect spot to take in the views and snap a few pictures, Rough Hollow Yacht Club made sense to Linda that her photoshoot take place there. Who wouldn’t look for any opportunity to savor a stunning lake view?

Living, working and playing on the lake, Tammie’s personal home on Lake LBJ was the obvious choice for her photoshoot location. Not only did it offer a beautiful setting but the smell of fresh coffee coming from a lovely coffee bar as the focal point in the kitchen.

What do you appreciate the most about lakeside living?
I can’t think of anywhere else I would rather be than on Lake LBJ! It truly is my favorite place on earth. Being able to step out the door and be greeted by the lake is more than enough to soothe the soul. And with a constant water level throughout the year, residents never have to worry about missing out on a little splash of fun.

Which restaurants with lake views do you recommend?
My favorite is Boat Town Burger Bar! They serve great food, burgers and ice-cold beer. Patrons can boat up or drive in and, with its excellent location, you can enjoy live music and even watch the 4th of July fireworks! Bay View Restaurant also has fantastic food and beautiful views over Lake LBJ.

What do you enjoy in your free time?
I love boating; sunset cruises are the best!
