Where to Celebrate Pride Month in Austin

Extravagant drag performances, soccer tournament, art markets and more opportunities to honor the LGBTQIA+ community this June

June is Pride Month, a time dedicated to honoring the history of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as the progress that has been made. Austin holds its official city-wide celebration of Pride in August, however Pride festivities are still being held around town this June to cheer on love and freedom of expression. Read on for more information on our favorite gatherings this month.

UMLAUF After Dark

UMLAUF Sculpture Garden + Museum is hosting two exciting Pride events this June. On Tuesday, June 4, UMLAUF After Dark hosts Pride Night with music by Queer Vinyl Co., a drag show, and engaging games with Ryan Velasquez, art vendors and more. Then, on June 9 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., experience UMLAUF Family Day: Pride, featuring a vibrant drag show by Kween KeeKee, transformative haircuts by Shag Noir Salon, and inclusive story-time, art crafts, and sculpture searches.


Art in ATX: Pride Market + Tie-Dye

The Gallery ATX is hosting a pop-up market at Batch Craft Beer + Kolaches celebrating PRIDE month on Sunday, June 9 from 12-4 p.m. Support local LGBTQ+ artists and small businesses while enjoying live music by La Morena, Cormae, and Kiko Rico. This all-inclusive, all-ages, and free event offers a $30 tie-dye station ticket, which includes an Art in ATX t-shirt and dyes, with all proceeds supporting The Gallery ATX nonprofit.

WineFlare Texas

Join The Violet Crown Wine Bar & Coffee Shop for WineFlare Texas on Sunday, June 16 from 2-5 p.m. Celebrate LGBTQ+ wines and winemakers with tastings, educational sessions on the craft and representation in the industry, and small bites from The Violet Crown’s kitchen. Proceeds benefit Out Youth and other Texas nonprofits supporting LGBTQ+ rights, with music by DJ IFEELUV.


Dougherty Arts Center Nights: Verse Unveiled

Join the Dougherty Arts Center for a live poetry performance by award-winning poet Ariana Brown, followed by an open mic on Wednesday, June 5 from 7-9 p.m. Celebrate Pride with Ariana Brown as she explores queerness, black personhood, and liberated futures, and engage in an audience Q&A. This free event is for participants 15 and up, with limited seating and open mic sign-ups starting at 6 p.m. on the day of the event.

The Majestic Ball

The 3rd annual Majestic Ball at The Paramount Theatre features stunning performances by drag divas Diamond Dior Davenport and A’Keria C. Davenport and is hosted by Legendary Mother Natalie Lepore. Compete on stage in OTA categories, scored on outfits, attitudes, performance, and runway walk, with the chance to win ultimate prizes. Also, catch screenings of LGBTQ+ classics like The Color Purple and The Birdcage leading up to the ball.


St. Elmo Pride Party

Celebrate Pride at St. Elmo Brewing Company with an evening of music, drag, shopping, and drinks on June 8. Enjoy performances by Louisianna Purchase, Mandy Quinn, and Tatiana Cholula, along with music from DiscoTex from 6-7:30 p.m., followed by drag performances from 7:30-10 p.m. Louisianna’s beer will be on tap, with a portion of sales benefiting Transgender Education Network of Texas (TENT).

Y’all Means All Cup

Sports lovers can join the inaugural Y’all Means All Cup on Saturday, June 8. This Austin FC 7 vs. 7 round robin soccer tournament at The Crossover in Leander supports a local LGBTQIA+ advocacy non-profit. The benefiting non-profit will be selected in collaboration with the winning team.
