Austin’s Moody Amphitheater was alive with music, conversation and community spirit during Glow in the Park, Waterloo Greenway’s annual gala fundraiser and celebration, held Thursday, Oct. 2. Guests dined on dishes by MML Hospitality, enjoyed a moving performance from Lamont Landers and helped support the nonprofit’s mission to cultivate Austin’s green spaces.

Beyond the lively atmosphere and music, the night carried a powerful purpose. More than $1.55 million was raised—and counting— to keep Waterloo Greenway flourishing, from maintaining and operating Waterloo Park to funding year-round community programs. The funds will also support the development of Phase II, the next major milestone in the 35-acre urban park system, scheduled to open in mid-2026.

Supporting Austin’s green spaces

The event’s success reflected the deep commitment of Waterloo Greenway’s supporters, including sponsors, event chairs, host committee members, table hosts and ticket purchasers. A special thanks goes to Lynn and Tom Meredith and their family, who continue to champion the organization’s vision for a greener, more connected Austin.

Together, the community is helping build a vibrant public space that links people to nature, culture, art and one another. Waterloo Greenway remains a testament to what’s possible when a city invests in its creative and natural landscapes—a space that belongs to everyone, designed to inspire future generations.
