While SXSW excitement certainly takes over Austin in the month of March, there are several other wonderful events coming up that you’ll surely want on your radar. In fact, it’s our birthday month! Join us as we celebrate our 25th anniversary with three special events.

International Women’s Day Concert

March 8

Join us from 3-5 p.m. for an afternoon concert presented with Hotel Magdalena and LONA. Held on the Bobbie Nelson Lawn, the performance will feature Austin singer-songwriter Haley Anna. Entry is free with a donation to The SAFE Alliance (SAFE), which supports survivors of child abuse, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and domestic violence in Central Texas. Guests can enjoy a free LONA Beauty Bar as well as specialty cocktails for purchase. RSVP here.

Coca-Cola’s Sips & Sounds Music Festival

Auditorium Shores
March 13-14

Now in its fourth year, the Austin festival will feature 16 artists across two days, with star-studded headliners like Christina Aguilera, Calvin Harris, Major Lazer Soundsystem, Foster The People and more.

“The Great Gatsby”

Bass Concert Hall
March 10–15

The Tony Award-winning musical, based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel, brings a jazz- and pop-infused score, lavish production design and a fresh adaptation to the touring stage following record-breaking runs on Broadway, the West End and in Seoul.

Rodeo Austin comes along with an action-packed lineup of livestock shows, live music, carnival games, and Rodeo Austin’s exclusive after-hours honky-tonk.

Tuesday Twilights

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
March 24

The Wildflower Center is staying open late on Tuesdays, March 24 through May 12. Make it a date night, a picnic with friends, or enjoy some solo solace in nature. Each evening will feature live music from local musicians, a rolling lineup of Austin’s favorite food trucks, and take-and-walk adult beverages for purchase.

Art Walk on the Trail

Ann & Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail (Starting at Seaholm Intake Facility)
Thursday, March 26

Join us with The Trail Conservancy for a guided “walk-and-talk” along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail. The 1.5-mile route, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Seaholm Intake Facility, will highlight artists featured in TEMPO on the Trail, a temporary public art exhibition installed along the waterfront. The event will conclude at Mañana Coffee for discounted bites and beverages, giveaways, and surprises. Plus and everyone can pick up a complimentary copy of TRIBEZA’s special 25th anniversary issue to take home. Participation is free with RSVP.

MotoGP Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas

March 27-29

Austin gears up for the return of high-speed racing as MotoGP’s fearless riders bring the world’s fastest bikes to the track. Daredevils climb the iconic Turn 1, navigate through COTA’s esses, and reach speeds of 220 mph.

“Marie Antoinette: Vampire Queen of Versailles”

Long Center
March 27-29

Ballet Austin presents this seductive reimagining of Marie Antoinette’s story. Stephen Mills transforms one of history’s most infamous queens into a creature of the night, wielding power through allure, ambition, and an insatiable thirst. Drawing inspiration from the pages of history, this full-length, World Premiere production blends high drama with supernatural intrigue.


RISE 

Pease Park
March 29

Enjoy an afternoon dedicated to honoring Austin’s Black freedom communities. Presented by the Pease Park Conservancy and Art Is Cool, the family-friendly gathering brings together music, food, hands-on activities and community conversation. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and settle in for a relaxed afternoon focused on connection, learning and shared history.
