Breakthrough T1D Raises $1.7 Million at Inaugural Fundraising Weekend in Austin
Supporters came together for a meaningful celebration to advance research and find a cure for type 1 diabetes

Austin’s philanthropic community gathered April 25–26 for the inaugural OneParty weekend, a two-day event supporting type 1 diabetes research and advocacy. Hosted by Breakthrough T1D, formerly known as JDRF, the event marked a new chapter for the organization and raised $1.7 million to advance its mission to cure type 1 diabetes.
Festivities began Friday at Lions Municipal Golf Course with the OneClassic, where teams gathered for a day of golf in support of the cause. The weekend culminated on Saturday at the Four Seasons Hotel Austin, where nearly 400 guests came together for the main event.
The OneParty featured dinner, live and silent auctions, and a performance by the James Speer Trio. Attendees also heard moving stories from those impacted by type 1 diabetes, spotlighting the importance of continued support and scientific breakthroughs. Co-chairs Jules and Morgan Threadgill helped lead the evening’s efforts, which exceeded fundraising goals.
The night concluded with a lively after-party performance by the Manhattan Orchestra, capping off a weekend that balanced heartfelt moments with celebration.
The organization’s rebrand from JDRF to Breakthrough T1D signals a renewed focus on innovation and impact. The next OneParty is set to return to the Four Seasons Austin on April 18, 2026.
