A 59-room apartment hotel is scheduled to open in early January inside the Paseo high-rise on Rainey Street, adding a new option to Austin’s short-term stay market. ROOST Rainey will occupy four floors of the 48-story tower currently under development at 80 Rainey St. The hotel will be the first Texas location for ROOST Apartment Hotel, a brand operated by Philadelphia-based hospitality company Method Co.

The property is being developed in partnership with LV Collective, an Austin-based real estate firm behind the Paseo project, which includes residential units, food and beverage venues, coworking space and wellness amenities.

ROOST will offer furnished units ranging from studios to four-bedroom apartments, each equipped with kitchens and laundry facilities. The concept is designed to serve guests staying from several nights to several weeks.

Design-forward lodging

“We’re thrilled to bring the ROOST Apartment Hotel experience to Austin, marking not only our debut in Texas but also our farthest expansion west to date,” said Randall Cook, co-founder and CEO of Method Co., in a statement. “Austin’s creative energy and strong sense of community align perfectly with the ROOST ethos.”

Guests at ROOST will have access to shared amenities throughout the Paseo development, including a 12th-floor pool deck, a fitness center and two floors of coworking space. On-site dining options include Daydreamer Coffee, a Mediterranean restaurant called Amaya, and a yet-unnamed Italian steakhouse scheduled to open in 2026.

“Paseo represents the next step in redefining what experiential living can be,” said David Kanne, CEO of LV Collective. “By seamlessly blending the hospitality of a hotel with the residential experience, we’ve created a place where every detail—from the design to the amenities—has been intentionally curated to inspire connection and discovery.”

The ROOST brand, launched in 2014, has expanded to seven other cities, including Detroit, Cleveland, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.
