Stay Among the Pines in Bastrop’s Striking New Mirror Cabins
About an hour from Austin, these Nordic-inspired mirror cabins offer a quiet, modern retreat at Lake Bastrop South Shore Park

Just about an hour away from Austin, two striking new additions to Lake Bastrop South Shore Park invite visitors to see themselves—literally—reflected in nature. The park’s new accommodations, The Hideaway and The Bloom, are luxury ÖÖD Mirror Houses: gleaming, floor-to-ceiling glass cabins that blend seamlessly into the wooded surroundings while providing a stylish and comfortable place to unwind.
“LCRA Parks is always looking to add new accommodations and amenities to continue modernizing and diversifying opportunities available at our parks,” said Margo Richards, Vice President of Community Resources at LCRA. “We loved the idea of intertwining the beauty of the mirror houses with the beauty of the Lost Pines region.”
Cabin amenities
The pet-friendly two 221-square-foot cabins, operated by Cameron Ranch Glamping, each sleep two guests.
Inside, each cabin includes:
- A queen memory foam bed
- Walk-in shower
- Kitchenette with cookware and tableware
- Dining area for two
- Record player and games
- Heating and air conditioning for year-round comfort
Outside, guests can enjoy:
- A charcoal grill
- A fire pit
- A private seating area
The addition of the ÖÖD Mirror Houses reflects a growing trend at LCRA Parks to bring elevated experiences to its natural spaces. Richards noted that Cameron Ranch Glamping, operated by Garrett Brown and his team, was a natural partner. “Cameron Ranch Glamping not only offers beautiful stays but also shares our focus on customer service and attention to detail to provide unique visitor experiences,” she said.
Richards described the guest experience as “modern Nordic design structured to allow people to experience and embrace the outdoors with all the luxury of a boutique hotel.”

Richards hinted that more could be on the horizon. “Early reviews of the ÖÖD houses have been extremely positive,” she said, “and we look forward to exploring opportunities to add additional glamping options at LCRA Parks.”
