Perfectly positioned in downtown Austin next to Lady Bird Lake, sits a new type of coworking space: Trick Hat Workway. Adjacent to the popular Mañana coffee shop and steps from the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail, it’s an ideal location for coworking.

According to Marielle Lamy Quaid, Head of Business Development at Trick Hat, the essence of the space lies not in its architecture or design, but in the vibrant community it fosters.

It’s all about the members and those who have called it home since it opened in 2023. The coworking group is diverse and dynamic, bringing together individuals and organizations from a wide range of industries.

Community programming

“What’s fun is that we have members and businesses across a wide variety of industries,” said Quaid. “From sports teams to VC firms to independent filmmakers, it’s a place where you want to run into people. You’re not operating in a vacuum. It creates an easy conversational zone.”

Additionally, part of what sets Trick Hat apart is its curated and exceptional line-up of community programming, especially a signature series known as “Trick Chats.”

“Trick Chats are casual, salon-style sessions where we have members talk about what they’re doing or topics they’re passionate about,” said Quaid. “They can be everything from the Austin music scene in 1970 to women in the media. The idea is to contextualize yourself in Austin and in Trick Hat, getting to know your fellow members and their specialities.

Another standout offering is Trick Hat’s Art & Wine Walks, a signature event that brings together visual art and curated wine pairings happening a few times throughout the year. While art is a constant presence in the space, this event takes it a step further. Trick Hat’s Wine Director thoughtfully pairs each artwork currently on display with a complementary wine, guiding members through the inspiration and theory behind each pairing.
