Pool Night at Deep Eddy Cabaret
Since 1951, Deep Eddy has been a favorite dive bar for cold beer, great tunes on the jukebox and a friendly game of pool. When the weather is great, my favorite is a dip in Deep Eddy Pool, followed by a burger at Pool Burger, a cold beverage and night of pool at Deep Eddy Cabaret. All within the same block and perfect for a date night.
Cheese Class at Antonelli’s Cheese Shop
What I love most about Antonelli’s Cheese Shop is how much fun they inject in every experience. This February, Antonelli’s is celebrating their 15th year in the biz and opening a new tasting room on South Lamar. Every year around Valentine’s Day, they stack their calendar with fun tasting events and classes at their Hyde Park location, and even have a Free Cheese Week leading up to the day.
Dancing at The Broken Spoke
We love when a night serendipitously ends at The Broken Spoke. Live music, great people-watching and a little dancing for you and your partner make for a fun and playful evening. Even if you’re not the dancing type, you’re sure to have a great time mingling with the regulars and people of all ages.
Couples Massage at Verbena Spa Inside the Proper Hotel
The couples massages at Verbena Spa are perfect for a romantic date with your partner. The products they use are luxe, and Kelly Wearstler designed the space so you know it’s elevated and chic. After your massage, head to La Piscina for some of the best fajitas and a margarita before you move onto the rest of your day.
Rent a Retro Boat
There’s nothing else like these in town. When the weather is great, here’s the move: pack a little picnic and drinks and surprise your honey with a rental. Who doesn’t love a few hours on the water?
Drag Queen Bingo at Lefty’s Brick Bar
Lefty’s always has a fun calendar of events, but my top pick for date night is their Drag Queen Bingo. Perfect for a night of fun and laughs and being silly together.
Wine Tasting with Wine for the People
This one is for the wine lovers and the wine curious. Winemaker Rae Wilson’s Wine for the People opened a new tasting room space in downtown Fredericksburg at 113 East Park Street (formerly Lost Draw Cellars). House of Dandy and La Valentía Tasting Room will focus on the two brands in Wine for the People’s portfolio. Couples can join for a tasting of Wilson’s Signature Wines.
Couples Pilates at The Peach House
For the couple who enjoys moving their body together, The Peach House is a small and intimate studio that also offers private and semi-private lessons. Book an evening class or lesson when the lights are dim for a more intimate moment. Afterwards, walk across the street to Underdog for a drink and a bite.
Movie Night at Alamo Drafthouse
Listen, you can never go wrong with a movie and bites at Alamo. They recently added love seats to some of their theaters making it easier than ever to cozy up to your date.
Day Trip to Dreamland for Game Night
Pickleball, disc golf, mini golf, plus a full kitchen and bar? Dreamland quite literally has everything you need for a one-stop shop night of fun with your date. They even have a gorgeous art and sculpture garden for the art enthusiasts.
Candle Making at Slow North
Slow North offers hands-on workshops where you can make your own candles, choosing from a variety of scents that are completely unique. They even offer private workshops if you want to keep the evening more intimate. It’s a fun date night experience to make each other candles and have a memento to take home.
