Who doesn’t love an old, classic Hollywood film? Pair it with a live band performance, and a perfect view of the downtown Austin skyline and you have yourself an unbeatable set up. Lucky for us, Alamo Drafthouse and Do512 have once again teamed up to bring us Sound and Cinema, a four-show series scheduled to add a little communal pizzazz to those summer nights.

On four Wednesday evenings this summer, the Long Center’s expansive grass lawn will play host to the free, family-friendly evenings, which kick off with a live band performance followed by a fan favorite film shown on a giant inf latable screen. With past performances by local favorites The Midnight Stroll and The Echocentrics followed by screenings of films like “Tommy Boy” and “Footloose,” we’re expecting this year’s lineup to be an audio and visual treat for attendees of all ages.

So bring a blanket, take a seat on the lawn, and unwind with boozy sips and food truck picks. Not in the mood for cocktails? Top off your evening with a frozen dessert instead. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Stay tuned for movie lineups.
