Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles

The Funk Apostles represent an unshakable ensemble of talents that, though formidable, is clearly together to have fun. The bunch of them are coming to Austin on November 17 to play Antone’s, where they’re sure to fit right in. The group’s latest album, “Art of Love,” takes funk on a tour of a multitude of genres, rubbing up against gospel, ’70s soul, and psych rock along the way. It’s music that lights up jazz festivals just as easily as NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series, and it’s certain to hit home with any Austin concertgoer.
