Alzheimer’s Texas is excited to announce its collaboration with Max Sherman, author of Releasing the Butterfly: A Love Affair in Four Acts and former Texas State Senator and Dean of the Lyndon B Johnson School of Public Affairs. Together they are hoping to provide valuable support to the Alzheimer’s caregiver community through the relaunch of Max’s book. The book, which has been celebrated for its raw and honest depiction of life as a caregiver for someone with Alzheimer’s, brings a much-needed focus to the often-overlooked experiences of caregivers. This narrative transcends Max Sherman and his wife, Gene Alice’s love story; it’s a deep dive into the complexities and often unseen challenges faced by those caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s, a condition that is frequently hidden from public conversation.
