Bat Fest returns Sept. 6 to the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge, celebrating Austin’s famous urban bat colony with live music, food and family-friendly fun. The festival features performances across two stages by Waka Flocka Flame, Silversun Pickups, Giovannie and the Hired Guns, Riff Raff and Zak Loy, alongside more than 25 arts and crafts vendors, children’s activities, and a bat costume contest. As dusk approaches, attendees can watch the nightly flight of 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats from beneath the bridge.
