BookPeople will host Argentine-American comedian, author, and TV writer Tamara Yajia on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. for a conversation with Austin-based musician, actress, and writer Stephanie Hunt in celebration of Yajia’s debut memoir, “Cry for Me, Argentina: My Life as a Failed Child Star.”
Known for her work on Hulu’s “This Fool,” Apple TV’s “Acapulco,” and Netflix’s upcoming “Strip Law,” Yajia blends humor and heart in a coming-of-age story about growing up between Argentina and the U.S., navigating a colorful and unconventional family, and finding her way from a brief stint as a child actress to her career in comedy and writing.
The free, public event will take place on BookPeople’s second floor and will run 45–60 minutes, followed by a signing line. Books purchased from BookPeople are required for signing. Seating is first-come, first-served.
