What
Free Week is a FREE district-wide music festival that will return to downtown Austin from January 3 to January 4. It is hosted by the Red River Cultural District.
Starting in 2003 at the original Emo’s, the fest provides revenue to local music venues and restaurants in the traditionally slower winter months. And although every performance is free for the audience, it’s a paid gig for the local artist on stage!
WHEN: Friday, January 3 & Saturday, January 4. Music starts in venues around 7 pm – 8 pm nightly.
WHERE: In the Red River Cultural District located in the heart of Downtown Austin! You’ll get free entry into downtown music venues like Stubbs, Mohawk, Swan Dive, Empire, and many more.
WHO’S PLAYING: 100+ local Austin musicians!
FOOD & DRINK OPTIONS: Plenty! Red River is crawling with amazing spots to pop in and grab a drink or a bite, many of which are offering special Free Week discounts and deals exclusive to the festival weekend.
