Simon Madera, the creator behind La Holly and Taco Flats, is excited to announce the launch of a new concept La Dosis Coffee and Cocktails. La Dosis, Spanish for the dosage, will bring customers their daily dosages of Merit Coffee Co. coffee, tacos, Tex-Mex Kolaches, cocktails and more. This casual, family-friendly joint located in Cedar Park will soft open on Friday, January 31st and host a grand opening on Sunday, February 9th. “Opening La Dosis feels like bringing a dream to life. We’ve poured our hearts into refining this concept and remodeling a unique space where our community can gather, connect, and enjoy delicious food and drink. We’re thrilled to finally open our doors and become part of this neighborhood’s daily dose of coffee, pastries, whatever it is they need daily,” said owner Simon Madera.
Located in the old J&J’s Barbecue space on 1431 Whitestone, the former ranchette has undergone a stunning transformation by renowned, Austin-based Liz MacPhail Interiors. La Dosis’ interior will masterfully blend western kitsch, Texas nostalgia, and psychedelic elements. The innovative design marries unexpected color combinations, with mauve and citron tones complementing earthy rust browns and taupe. These bold choices create a dynamic contrast against industrial materials like steel, terracotta, concrete, and plywood.
La Dosis will also feature an expansive outdoor space, designed by Austin’s award-winning landscape architecture firm Word + Carr Design Group. The space will have two distinctive patios customized for year-round enjoyment. Sports enthusiasts can catch their favorite games on multiple TVs throughout the restaurant-adjacent patio, while a second gathering space nestled beneath oak trees offers a more tranquil setting for communal gatherings. Keeping sustainability in mind, the venue transformed shipping containers into a vibrant outdoor bar and entertainment hub, which will host live music, karaoke, and private events. Adding to the outdoor experience, local favorite Bésame Ice Cream will debut its second food truck location within this dynamic space.
