As part of President Hartzell’s Songwriter in Residence Program, Austin-based singer-songwriter Darden Smith will join the Longhorn Songwriters at Cactus Cafe on October 16 at 7:30 p.m. for a live, onstage workshop.
The Songwriter in Residence Program, now in its second year, offers UT students the opportunity to interact with the resident songwriter through workshops, concerts and other public programs. Smith, the University’s inaugural songwriter in residence, has returned to campus this year to offer these experiences in an emeritus capacity.
Smith and additional songwriters will write together live for a night of creative collaboration, offering the audience a glimpse into the songwriting process.
