Mike Birbiglia is a multi-talented entertainer, renowned as a comedian, storyteller, director, and actor with a global reach, having graced stages from the Sydney Opera House to Carnegie Hall and Broadway. His solo shows, including “Sleepwalk With Me,” “My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend,” “Thank God For Jokes,” and “The New One,” garnered critical acclaim both on and off Broadway. Among them, “My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend” earned the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Solo Show, while “The New One” received the Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle award for an outstanding solo performance.
Birbiglia is also a skilled filmmaker, having written, directed, and starred in the films “Sleepwalk with Me” and “Don’t Think Twice.” As an actor, he’s been featured in notable films such as “Trainwreck,” “The Fault in Our Stars,” and “Popstar,” as well as TV series like “Orange Is the New Black” and “Billions.” Additionally, he’s the host of the podcast “Mike Birbiglia’s Working It Out” and recently completed a sold-out 85-performance Broadway run of his latest show, “The Old Man and the Pool,” at the Vivian Beaumont Theater at Lincoln Center.
