Eric Silverstein, owner of The Peached Tortilla, is relaunching a 2025 edition of his cookbook The Peached Tortilla: Modern Asian Comfort Food From Tokyo to Texas this summer, complete with a new cover, some new images and some tweaks to the inside content.
To celebrate the relaunch, their Burnet Road neighbor Birdhouse Books is hosting a special ticketed evening with Eric Silverstein himself. Each $50 ticket will include a copy of the newly released version of the cookbook (a $35 value), bites and drinks from the Peached Tortilla, and access to an exclusive Q&A with Chef Silverstein that will be hosted by Birdhouse Books owner Abby Strite.
Blending memoir and cookbook, his book features a collection of 100 recipes that trace Eric’s culinary evolution, from the humble beginnings of his first food truck to the opening of his first brick-and-mortar restaurant. Alongside the recipes, Eric reflects on his experiences, including his time living in Tokyo and growing up in a multi-racial household. As his story unfolds across the years, the dishes evolve with it, offering a flavorful look at a 14-year journey from street food to a celebrated restaurant kitchen.
