What
First Thursday returns to South Congress Hotel with a back-to-school twist. Austin’s popular block party will collect most-needed school supplies items for Travis Heights Elementary School while guests enjoy live music, drinks and DJ specials. Attendees who bring a new, unopened school supply item will receive a complimentary drink ticket in exchange.
Most-wanted items include:
Glue sticks, Expo markers, Sharpie markers, student scissors, pencil top erasers, large pink erasers, large thick pencils “Ticonderoga,” regular pencils, crayons and thick triangle crayons, Post-Its, spirals, composition notebooks, markers, watercolor palettes, clear sheet protectors, index cards, pens, White out/correction tape, staple remover, popsicle sticks
This month’s event features a live performance by Cactus Lee and DJs sessions from King Louie, Black Gold, Ashmar and Ruuex all over the hotel. For the third year in a row, a portion of drink sales will be donated to help support The Sims Foundation all night long.
Maie Day’s First Thursday fastpass also returns, offering expedited entry starting at 6 p.m., a welcome cocktail, signature bites served from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and private bar access. Fastpass tickets are $45 in advance through Tock, with limited availability at the door.
