Swedish Hill will officially open its newest location on Thursday, May 15, in Austin’s Bouldin Creek neighborhood at 1804 South First St. The new bakery and café, open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., moves into the former Foxtrot Market space.
Unique to the South First location is a dedicated showroom from Heath Ceramics, the California-based maker of handcrafted dinnerware. The space marks Heath’s first retail presence outside its home state, adding a design-focused element to the new location.
The opening follows the November debut of Swedish Hill’s Westlake location and precedes another expansion coming this fall to 415 Colorado St. in downtown Austin.
Swedish Hill, which began as Sweetish Hill Bakery in 1975, has evolved into a local favorite known for its pastries, breads, cakes, and all-day café offerings. The brand relocated and rebranded in 2019, continuing operations at its flagship in Clarksville and a smaller “Little Swedish” outpost nearby.
