What

The Cook’s Nook is thrilled to announce the return of ‘Texas Table: A Feast for A Cause,’ a fundraising dinner that addresses the critical issue of rising food insecurity in Central Texas. Scheduled for February 25, 2025, at the enchanting Lenoir in South Austin, this year’s event promises an unforgettable evening of culinary excellence and community impact. Proceeds from the event will benefit two impactful organizations: the Alliance for African American Health in Central Texas (AAAHCT) and Austin Youth River Watch (AYRW), supporting their missions to promote health equity and environmental stewardship in our community.

Last year’s event was a resounding success, raising over $17,000 for Black Mama’s ATX and Partners for Education, Agriculture, and Sustainability (PEAS), furthering efforts to improve maternal health outcomes and provide environmental education for youth in Austin.

Crafted as a distinctive five-course experience, “Texas Table” blends the warmth of family traditions with the rich heritage of Texas. Beyond a culinary delight, the event serves as a platform to support organizations making meaningful impacts in the Austin community.

Details of the two organizations that will benefit from the event proceeds:

Alliance for African American Health in Central Texas (AAAHCT): Dedicated to reducing health disparities and improving health outcomes for African Americans in Central Texas, AAAHCT focuses on advocacy, education, and support programs to address chronic illnesses and empower healthier communities.

Austin Youth River Watch (AYRW): A transformative program that engages high school students in environmental stewardship. AYRW combines after-school education with hands-on river monitoring to empower young leaders, promote sustainability, and protect Austin’s natural resources.
