Texas Performing Arts presents “Kimberly Akimbo,” the five-time Tony Award-winning musical, as part of the 2025–26 Broadway in Austin season. Performances run September 30 through October 5 at Bass Concert Hall on the University of Texas campus.

Winner of the 2023 Tony Award for Best Musical, “Kimberly Akimbo” tells the story of a bright and witty teenager with a rare genetic condition that causes her to age rapidly. Navigating family struggles, a new town, first love, and unexpected challenges, Kimberly remains determined to find happiness. Hailed as “hilarious and heartbreaking” (The Washington Post) and “a new musical so clever, funny, and touching, you might want to give everyone on stage a hug” (The Hollywood Reporter), the production has received critical acclaim for its originality and emotional depth.

The creative team includes music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, with direction and choreography by Jessica Stone. The touring production features award-winning design, orchestrations, and performances, backed by a team of Broadway veterans.
