Landmarks, The University of Texas at Austin’s public art program, will host its annual “Sound in Sculpture” event at 6 p.m. April 22 at Bass Concert Hall. Established in 2015, this multidisciplinary program showcases original music compositions by students and alumni from the Sarah and Ernest Butler School of Music, inspired by selected works from the Landmarks collection.

This year’s featured artists—Tim Rogers, Bike Öner, Joel Laviolette and Noah Hudson-Camack—will present compositions influenced by artworks including Tony Smith’s “Amaryllis,” David Hare’s “The Swan’s Dream of Leda,” Jim Dine’s “History of Black Bronze I” and Eduardo Paolozzi’s “Figure.”

The event is presented in partnership with Texas Performing Arts and the Butler School of Music. Admission is free and open to the public, with parking available at San Jacinto Garage and other UT campus garages. The event will start at Tony Smith’s sculpture, “Amaryllis,” before transitioning inside Bass Concert Hall.
