“Waiting to Exhale” Celebrates 30th Anniversary With Rare 35mm Screening at the Paramount

The Paramount Theatre is bringing back the iconic 1995 film “Waiting to Exhale” for a special 30th anniversary screening on Friday, Feb. 21, presented in a rare 35mm print courtesy of the Library of Congress. Directed by Forest Whitaker and starring Angela Bassett, Whitney Houston, Loretta Devine, and Lela Rochon, the film remains a defining romantic drama, set to a legendary Babyface-produced soundtrack featuring Houston, Toni Braxton, TLC, and more.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the film starting at 7:30 p.m. Before the screening, local drag performer Diamond Dior Davenport will take the stage for a tribute to the beloved soundtrack.
