Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott takes its next bold stride with the debut of its first-ever boot collection. Launched in 2023 as a Western-inspired extension of the Kendra Scott legacy, Yellow Rose has quickly become a celebration of the spirit of the Lone Star State. Now, with the introduction of the Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott Boot Collection, Founder and Chief Creative Officer Kendra Scott is expanding her vision of modern Western style from head to toe.

Infused with a deep appreciation for her Texas roots, Scott’s new collection features two standout women’s designs, The Sarah and The Abbie, with signature details inspired by Kendra’s iconic jewelry silhouettes. The collection also features a men’s boot, The Weston, with a timeless roper silhouette.

In conversation with Kendra Scott

In this Q&A, Kendra Scott opens up about the inspiration behind this exciting new venture, how her lifelong love of the West continues to shape her creative journey, and why this collection marks a defining moment in the evolution of the Yellow Rose brand.

TRIBEZA: How did you choose which signature design elements (motifs, patterns, color palettes) to feature that link your boot line to your jewelry collection?

KS: As we continue to expand into lifestyle and new categories, it’s important that we stay connected to our design roots. Our signature silhouettes — like the Elisa and Abbie — tell our story and hold a deeper meaning.  From being a part of some of our earliest collections to now being embroidered into the leather of our first-ever boot collection with Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott, it is a full-circle moment for me. It reminds me how far we have come – one that we are proud of.

We approached this collection through the lens of our jewelry designs, blending the spirit of our Texas roots with this modern cowgirl femininity that defines Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott. Every detail is intentional, and every element ties back to where we started.

TRIBEZA: Which of these boot styles do you personally prefer?

It is hard to pick a favorite! I love them for different reasons. When we started designing our boot collection, I was so inspired by 70s country fashion icons like Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, and Dolly Parton. I knew early on I wanted to capture the essence of that era – from the rounded toes to the intricate stitching, everything about The Abbie and The Sarah boots reflect that charm.

The Abbie boot serves as our timeless classic tall boot. It’s elegant, versatile and offered in Brown, Ivory, Black, and the most gorgeous Red. I love how the red leather patinas beautifully over time.  The Sarah boot, on the other hand, is truly a standout. It was inspired by my friend and horse trainer, Sarah, who showed up at the ranch one day wearing a vintage pair of boots with the most beautiful bluebonnet-like scalloping along the shaft. The femininity and shape of the boot inspired me to create our own design which we have in Navy Blue, Brown and Ivory.

And we can’t forget about the men’s roper, The Weston! I am very excited about expanding our men’s category within Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott. We’re seeing more men embrace accessories in the Western space, which I love. The 1970s brought the Urban Cowboy movement and directly influenced the design and popularity of the roper boot. The Weston is an everyday boot meant for functionality and meant to age beautifully over time.

TRIBEZA: Were there any challenges you encountered launching footwear versus jewelry or accessories?

KS: Anytime we launch into a new category, it’s always a mix of excitement and nerves. As we continue to expand our business, my commitment is to always find best-in-class partners that align with our brand values. The trust our customers have in our brand to deliver innovative and intentional design, at an attainable price point, is something I will never take for granted. We needed experts that could bring our design to life while also ensuring the quality was there. Every detail in the design process was intentional as this product is my love letter to Texas.

TRIBEZA: How did you choose manufacturing partners for the boot line?

KS: The Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott Boot Collection is designed in Austin and handcrafted in León, Mexico, using traditional welt construction, genuine cow leather, and a leather-stacked heel. Our partners in León are incredible and truly understand the craftsmanship that goes into a well-made boot, and I am so proud of what we have created together.

TRIBEZA: When someone wears your boots, how do you hope they feel?

Empowered. That’s the word that comes to mind. Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott was created for the modern cowgirl, and this boot collection carries that same spirit. Similar to our jewelry, we want our customer to discover their personal style and embrace their individuality through our designs. My hope is that when someone puts on a pair of our boots, they feel confident, strong, and unapologetically themselves. “Blaze Your Own Trail” is printed on every boot box, a reminder of the excitement and individuality our customers feel as they make our boots part of their personal style.
