Alicia Roche Interiors, formerly Brooklinteriors, is a full-service interior design studio that is making Austin even more aesthetic, one space at a time. With projects in Tarrytown, Westlake, Pemberton Heights and beyond, Alicia Roche tackles everything from custom new builds to luxury home renovations. Everything she touches carries a touch of magic.
Originally founded in Brooklyn, Alicia Roche was inspired to start her firm by the New York’s vibrant community of artisans and makers, and a desire to connect homeowners with them. As she watched people renovate and furnish historic homes, she recognized the need for more thoughtfully designed, curated spaces and homes that would stand apart from the fast-furniture market. She wanted spaces to feel as functional and livable as they are beautiful.

In 2022 and post-pandemic, Alicia Roche found herself in Austin. Drawn by the opportunity for more space and a deeper connection to the outdoors, Austin was a perfect match. What she didn’t expect was such a natural fit with her fellow creatives. Many makers and creatives like herself had relocated to Austin during the pandemic, giving Alicia Roche an instant sense of community.
“What has been particularly rewarding is the way my experience in Brooklyn and Manhattan translates here,” said Roche. “Austin has also been inspiring in terms of access to artists and artisans. Some have relocated here from Brooklyn, while others are new discoveries with strong ties to Southwestern and Texas traditions. Living close to Round Top has also become an invaluable resource, providing access to exceptional pieces and global treasures.”
It’s not just access to fellow creatives that helped Alicia Roche Interiors blossom in Austin, but her clients too.
“Many of my clients in Austin have also lived in other major cities, so we share an understanding of both aesthetic and lifestyle,” said Roche. “This allows me to fuse influences and bring the best of many worlds into their homes.”
Alicia Roche says most of her clients are families and busy professionals with demanding lives. She describes her goal as taking on the “heavy lifting” of the design process so it becomes not only seamless, but also enjoyable.
“My goal is always to deliver something deeply personal and enduring,” said Roche. “It’s to create a home they could never have created on their own.”
Another advantage that Alicia Roche offers to her clients is direct access to Gaelic & Grain, a custom furniture and millwork studio led by her husband, Bryan Roche. Much like the plot of a movie, Alicia met Bryan while in Round Top while he was in town from Ireland.
Now, Alicia and Bryan partner to offer Austinites custom creations made from high quality pieces, all constructed on-site at their personal 4-acre homestead where their house, studio, and workshop all sit.
“It’s perfect because I can watch how the piece is being made and refine it for the client throughout the process,” said Alicia. “It’s hard to find good quality furniture these days, so I love being able to offer not only the design services to my clients, but the ability to craft the exact pieces they need to fit their space as well.”
From gutting 1800s brownstones in Brooklyn to building custom bars in the heart of Tarrytown, Alicia and her firm bring versatile expertise to every scale of project.
