On Jan. 31 and February 1, hundreds of design enthusiasts will set out on a self-guided, self-paced tour of beautifully designed homes across Austin. Presented by Heritage Title of Austin and SWBC Mortgage — The Breed Team, the TRIBEZA Interiors Tour highlights work from some of the city’s most accomplished interior designers while allowing guests to explore at their own pace.

Now in its 11th year, the tour has become a fixture on Austin’s design calendar. Here are 11 reasons it’s a highlight every year.

1. Touring different neighborhoods

It’s not every day you get to step inside homes across so many different Austin neighborhoods. Each year’s tour moves through charming areas like Hyde Park, Cherrywood and Zilker, offering a chance to see how design, scale and style shift from one part of the city to another.

2. Hearing directly from the designers

Seeing finished spaces is one thing; hearing the reasoning behind them is another. Throughout the tour, guests have the opportunity to hear designers insight into their process, client collaboration and the decisions that shaped each home.

3. Real-life design ideas to borrow

Layouts, lighting, storage solutions and finishes are easier to understand when seen in person. The tour offers practical inspiration that can translate directly into future home projects.

4. Meeting fellow design lovers

Whether chatting while waiting to enter a home or bonding over a shared appreciation for a piece of art, the tour naturally brings together people with a shared interest in design.

5. Design detours along the way

Ticket holders can take breaks between homes with designated design detours, offering opportunities to shop, snack and explore notable local interiors and retail spaces throughout the city.

6. The kickoff party

VIP ticket holders gain access to the tour’s kickoff party, which sets the tone for the weekend. The event includes bites, cocktails, a designer panel and a curated gift bag, plus early access to the homes each day. This year’s party takes place at The Modern Residences’ new penthouse suite overlooking downtown Austin.

7. Making a full day of it

The self-guided format encourages brunch stops, coffee breaks and neighborhood exploration between homes. It’s an easy way to revisit favorite spots or finally try new ones.

8. Clarifying personal style

Moving through a wide range of interiors helps sharpen design instincts. Visitors often leave with a clearer sense of what resonates and what definitely does not.

9. Taking plenty of photos

From wallpaper to lighting to art, every room offers something worth remembering. Many attendees leave with camera rolls full of ideas for future reference.

10. Seeing the details up close

Photography captures only so much. Millwork, tile, hardware and built-ins reveal their true texture and color when viewed in person, making the tour especially valuable for detail-oriented design fans.

11. Cruising the city with a playlist and a plan

Part of the tour’s appeal is moving through the city with some good tunes and a game plan. With two days to tour, it’s easy to take things slow and split homes across the weekend. For those tackling everything in one day, it can feel a bit like an episode of The Amazing Race—in the best way.
