On Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, hundreds of design lovers joined us for the 11th annual TRIBEZA Interiors Tour, presented by SWBC Mortgage – The Breed Team and Heritage Title of Austin. The self-guided tour featured eight expertly designed homes across Austin by some of the city’s most talented designers. Originally scheduled for the weekend prior, the tour was postponed due to a winter storm. Fortunately, the rescheduled dates brought sunny skies and cool temperatures—ideal conditions for a weekend spent exploring thoughtfully designed interiors. Each home offered a distinct point of view, leaving visitors with no shortage of inspiration.

Warm, timeless homes with old-Austin charm

Amy Hadley of Hey Now Interiors transformed her 1952 Allandale ranch into a space filled with old-Austin charm and Southern warmth. Dark wood paneling, Saltillo tile and Western-inspired art and decor set the tone throughout. A standout moment was the front living room, anchored by Katie Kime’s Austin toile wallpaper and a lemon-yellow Malm fireplace, creating a space that felt equal parts playful and lived-in.

Studio Burgoon founder Ali Burgoon Nolan opened the doors to her restored 1939 bungalow in Hyde Park’s Local Historic District, renovated with Curlee Custom Homes and architect Lindsay Shillington. The home balances midcentury influences with European antiques, resulting in a cozy, art-forward retreat. One of the most striking spaces was the home office, where pine shiplap walls, dusty green trim and earth-toned artwork surround a black vintage-style desk.

Bambi A’Lynn Bratton’s Hyde Park retreat pairs timeless femininity with a collected European sensibility, layering florals, pastels and heirloom-style details throughout. Book-lined living spaces, a cozy fireplace and glass-front kitchen cabinets filled with ornate fine china give the home a sense of warmth and permanence.

Bold color, big views and maximalist style

In East Austin, Kim Lewis’ remodeled Craftsman stood out for its creative, eclectic style. The living room features burgundy walls, a zellige-tiled fireplace, herringbone wood floors and bold artwork by the homeowner. Just beyond, the skylit kitchen centers on a chartreuse lacquer island with brass inlay, set against red-orange floral wallpaper for a striking contrast.

Designed by Urbanspace Design Studio in collaboration with Page Architects and Nelson Partners, and built by Flintco, The Modern’s penthouse suite delivered sweeping views of downtown Austin through expansive floor-to-ceiling windows. Sleek furnishings and curated artwork matched the scale of the views, while entertaining spaces—including a wine cellar, theater room and generous balcony—made the home feel equally functional and elevated.

Interior designer Sara Malek Barney, founder of BANDD/DESIGN, showcased her colorful custom build created with 360 Degree Construction and Pavonetti Architecture. Inspired by New Orleans, the maximalist home embraces bold design choices and a jewel-toned palette. From black-and-white geometric flooring to richly painted walls in blues, purples and greens, each room celebrates color and pattern.

A reimagined ranch, a show-stopping bonus stop and design detours

Moontower Design-Build reimagined a 1960s ranch in Barton Hills into a modern family home with a soaring screened porch that functions as an outdoor living room, along with a detached guest casita. Vaulted ceilings, skylights, saturated hues and handmade tile add character indoors, while wood, plaster and terra-cotta finishes ground the home in warmth.

The tour’s bonus stop was Chloe Chiang‘s Chateau Chloe, winner of TRIBEZA’s 2025 Curb Appeal Contest. Designed by Alexis Barry of Alexis Justine Design and brought to life by a collaborative team of builders, architects and stylists, the home proved just as compelling inside as out. Nearly every interior element is one of a kind, sourced from antiques, estate finds and custom makers.

Throughout the weekend, ticket holders also enjoyed design detours with refreshments at Maaribu Cafe & Gifts, The Renner Project and Maaribu Home & Design. Guests were additionally invited to tour Chateau Bellevue, the historic Victorian mansion that serves as both an event venue and the headquarters of the Austin Woman’s Club.
