Sushi By Scratch Offers New At-Home Omakase Culinary Experience in Austin
This new Austin offering transforms your private space into a very special dining destination

Power couple Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee are the Michelin-starred chefs behind all of Scratch Restaurants’ concepts including Pasta Bar, NADC Burger, and Sushi By Scratch Restaurants. Now they’re expanding the Sushi By Scratch concept to an at-home experience that Austinites can book for a special culinary experience right in their own backyard.
Experiencing an intimate at-home dinner party
Last week, we were among the first in Austin to experience this unforgettable at-home sushi extravaganza. Zesty ginger-sake cocktails greeted us before we relished in a 17-course nigiri omakase with sake pairings. Along the way, Phillip told us about the history and culture of sushi, including specific inspirations from the nigiri he and other expert sushi chefs were preparing tableside. As sake was served, we learned about that specific pour as well as tips for consumption.
To top off the evening, Margarita served some of her incredible desserts. The smoked banana ice cream topped with caviar in a homemade waffle cone was life-changing (and rightfully ruined store-bought ice cream forever). This was a sampling of the new ice cream program she’s offering at Wolf and Wheat this summer.
