Rosie’s Wine Bar

Petite and inviting, Rosie’s Wine Bar is an easy choice for an intimate dinner and a well-made drink. Austin’s beloved independent bookstore, BookPeople, spans three levels and includes an in-store cafe, CoffeePeople, serving pastries and coffee drinks. Tall bookshelves line each floor, anchored by a grand central staircase filled with bookish toys and merchandise, creating a space that rewards wandering and lingering.

Péché

At Péché, moody lighting, dark wood and a rolling library ladder reaching top-shelf spirits set the tone for one of downtown Austin’s most atmospheric bars. Known for its French onion soup and indulgent adult milkshakes, the menu leans into classic French comfort with a decadent edge. As Austin’s first absinthe bar, Péché focuses on pre-Prohibition–style cocktails alongside a thoughtfully curated wine list. Just off Old Sixth Street, Seven Grand is a whiskey bar connected by a shared patio to Caña Rum Bar and Las Perlas, a mezcal and tequila bar.
