ACL Fest 2021 Will Require Proof of Vaccination or Negative Covid-19 Test
Guests must show negative Covid test results from 72 hours prior to the festival
After canceling in 2020, the Austin City Limits Music Festival will return this year to Zilker Park with more than 100 musical acts during two weekends in October.
In addition to a wristband for entry, festivalgoers will also need to show medical information, ACL announced today.
Due to the ongoing pandemic and a rise in cases of the Delta Variant across the country, in Texas and in Austin, anyone planning to attend ACL this year must to show a printed copy of a negative Covid-19 test, a Covid-19 vaccination card or vaccine record. The printed test result must be obtained within 72 hours of the festival.
Each year approximately 450,000 people attend ACL Fest, which will take place October 1st through 3rd and October 8th through 10th. The 2021 festival is sold out.
This year’s lineup is packed with big and diverse names from across music genres: George Strait, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Erykah Badu, Megan Thee Stallion, Black Pumas, Tanya Tucker, Modest Mouse are all listed.
Stevie Nicks was on the lineup but backed out when she canceled all U.S. tour dates, citing the health concerns and the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I want everyone to be safe and healthy and the rising Covid cases should be of concern to all of us,” she said in a statement.
ACL Fest replaced the Fleetwood Mac singer, adding Duran Duran as a co-headliner for its Sunday shows alongside Tyler, The Creator.
