TRIBEZA Austin Student Journalism Scholarship
The TRIBEZA Austin Student Journalism Scholarship is now accepting applications through June 26, 2026. One graduating Austin senior will be selected to receive $2,500, paid directly to the recipient, to support their first year of college study. TRIBEZA — Austin’s premier art and culture magazine — is proud to introduce the inaugural award honoring one exceptional Austin high school senior with the talent, drive and vision to pursue a career in journalism.
About the $2500 TRIBEZA Austin Journalism Scholarship
Great journalism shapes how a city understands itself. This scholarship was established to invest in the voices that will define Austin’s next chapter — writers who are curious, rigorous and compelled to tell the stories that matter. One outstanding student will be selected to receive $2,500, with the winner announced at the end of July.
Eligibility
The TRIBEZA Austin Student Journalism Scholarship is open to current high school seniors residing within Austin city limits who are enrolling in a college or university in fall 2026. Applicants must hold a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate a sincere commitment to journalism.
Application Requirements
A complete application includes three writing samples displaying journalistic skill, an overview of extracurricular involvement and a written response to the following prompt:What do you hope to achieve as a journalist, and how does Austin shape the stories you want to tell?
