Thousands of original artworks will fill the Palmer Events Center this May as the Affordable Art Fair returns to Austin for its second year. The four-day event, running May 15–18, brings together 55 galleries from Texas and around the world, offering pieces priced between $100 and $10,000 in a setting designed to welcome both new and experienced collectors.

“This year’s fair builds on the energy of our debut in Austin,” said Cori Teague, fair director. “We look forward to showcasing an even more diverse and vibrant collection of contemporary art for all Austinites to discover the joy of collecting art.”

Local galleries and Texas talent on display

Austin’s creative community will be well represented, with galleries including Wally Workman Gallery, Yard Dog, Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Davis Gallery & Framing, Lydia Street Gallery, She Wolf Gallery and Canopy Collective among the local participants. Other Texas exhibitors include Commerce Gallery from Lockhart and Dimmitt Contemporary Art, which has locations in Austin and Houston.

The fair also draws a strong international presence. Returning and first-time galleries from cities like Paris, Berlin, Brisbane and The Hague will be joined by exhibitors from New York, Philadelphia and other U.S. hubs.

Panels, tours and a private view

Alongside the artworks, visitors can expect a full slate of programming throughout the weekend. Artist talks, curator-led tours, workshops and family-friendly hours are all part of the lineup. A ticketed Private View event on Thursday evening offers early access to the fair and includes a complimentary drink.

Cristina Salmastrelli, the fair’s U.S. regional managing director, said the event is designed for a wide audience.

“Our experts will guide visitors through discovering art that perfectly fits their personality and space. Whether you are new to art or buying for your extensive collection, the fair offers something new in everyone’s journey with art,” Salmastrelli said.

Founded in London in 1999, the Affordable Art Fair now hosts events in 15 cities worldwide and reports more than 3.1 million visitors to date. In 2025, new fairs are launching in Boston and Vienna, alongside returning editions in Austin, New York, Amsterdam and other cities.
