Music as a Beacon for Mental Wellness

The connection between music’s therapeutic impact on the youth’s mental health is evident by the second annual Thriving College Students Index, revealing that 82% of college students turn to music as a top method for supporting their mental well-being. HHAYP, in partnership with the College Student Mental Wellness Advocacy Coalition, aims to delve deeper into understanding and promoting mental wellness among college-aged students through research and awareness initiatives.

“By providing young adults with tools to identify and manage their negative feelings, we can reduce the strain on mental health professionals and improve the chances our children will lead healthier, happier lives,” said Sanchez.

Musical Icons Paving the Way for Mental Health Awareness

The concert lineup promises a captivating evening, with Pecknold and June using their musical prowess to advocate for mental health. Past performers have included renowned artists like Grouplove, Cage the Elephant, The Flaming Lips, and more, all of whom collaborated with the late Daniel Johnston, inspiring the creation of HHAYP.
