Parker Jazz Club Reopens 5 Nights a Week with Stellar Late-Summer Lineup

The intimate live music venue has expanded its events calendar with nightly performances through August 28

In the dim light of an elegant cocktail lounge, jazz musicians perform for a mesmerized audience. Parker Jazz Club, located in the heart of Downtown Austin’s Warehouse District, has announced that its live-music venue is now open five (or more) nights a week. The moody basement lounge closed at the start of the Coronavirus pandemic and has only been open for a few sporadic shows throughout the year. Now, the jazz club is expanding its event calendar with talented acts for the remainder of the summer.

Headed by musician, founder and owner Kris Kimura, Parker Jazz Club opened in 2018. Kimura says he wanted to create a world-class music venue with a distinctly Austin vibe.

“I wanted something you would see if you went to New York and spent an evening at Dizzy’s Club, or went to London and visited Ronnie Scott’s, or went to Paris — a truly timeless, world-class venue,” Kimura explained. “But also, it couldn’t be too stuffy because this is Austin. People in Austin are cool. We wanted to kind of mix that high-end thing with this hip, distinctly Austin thing, and I feel like we’ve hit the mark.”

In addition to exceptional music, Parker Jazz Club says that it offers thoughtfully curated bites and a sophisticated drink menu that includes cocktails, local craft beers, an extensive wine list and elevated scotch and whiskey offerings from around the world.

The Club says its Jazz Therapy series, which takes place every Tuesday night from 8 until 9:30 p.m., is free for medical professionals and teachers to attend as a thank you for their service during the pandemic.
