Inside Austin’s Red Dot Art Spree, Featuring More Than 180 Works by Texas Artists

Art lovers from across Austin came together to celebrate art and artists at Red Dot Art Spree, Women & Their Work’s annual fundraiser, on Sept. 17. 

Guests were among the first to experience more than 180 works by artists from across Texas, selected through an open call hosted by the nonprofit. The exhibition showcased a diverse range of artistic mediums, including sculpture, painting, photography, prints and more, offering something for every type of art enthusiast. The excitement began even before the doors officially opened, with eager attendees and collectors lining up to be among the first to purchase works they had been admiring in the event’s online catalog.

The excitement continued throughout the evening as guests explored the gallery, discovered new artists and celebrated the incredible range of work on display.

Guests enjoyed a delicious spread from La Pera Catering alongside a selection of curated libations and beverages. Non-alcoholic cocktails from Ritual Zero Proof and refreshing drinks from Rambler were available throughout the evening, while San Antonio-based DJ Kowboy kept the celebration going with an all-vinyl set.

The energy throughout the gallery stayed high as guests explored the exhibition, admired the work on view and connected with fellow art lovers. By the end of the evening, more than 80 unique works had found new homes with attendees. Proceeds from the ticket and art sales help support exhibitions for women artists in Texas and education programs year round hosted by Women & Their Work. 

The exhibition remains on view through Sept. 26, with artwork available for purchase online and in the gallery.
