Welcome, September! Welcome to the start of a very busy and exciting season of events in Austin, including Longhorn football season. As we transition from summer into fall festival season, your September social schedule can be packed with exciting concerts, performing arts debuts, street fairs, gala events and plenty of excuses to get out and explore the city. “Come From Away”

¡VIVA Mexico!

​Fall Pecan Street Festival 

Hill Country Galleria

The Pecan Street Festival is a free, bi-annual juried music, arts and crafts festival. Visitors will experience a lively street fair with vendors, artists, musicians, food, drinks and more. pecanstreetfestival.org

Pumpkin Nights

Pioneer Farms

Artists transform hundreds of jack-o-lanterns into otherworldly creatures and imaginative structures, and will surely create a sense of wonder for all ages as they stroll through eight varying realms. Tickets and more info at pumpkinnights.com/austin.

Teresa Lozano Long Community Day

Long Center
September 19

Enjoy a block-party bash featuring hosts of community partners, activities, and performances all over the Long Center building. Garden Gnome Grove – Opening Celebration

Zilker Botanical Garden

All are invited to the opening of the first Garden Gnome Grove from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The new fall installation transforms the Oak Grove trails with miniature homes and whimsical displays inspired by garden gnomes. Guests are encouraged to explore the trail, search for hidden details and arrive in gnome- or woodland-inspired costumes for the opening celebration. Tickets and more info at zilkergarden.org.

“WaterWork”

Seaholm Intake Facility
September 25-26

Hosted by The Trail Conservancy and Design Austin, the art show transforms the historic power plant’s façade into a projection-mapped canvas showcasing the work of 22 Central Texas artists. Viewing from the shore is free; boat cruise tickets will be available at designaustin.org/waterwork.

Ballet Austin presents “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”

In Stephen Mills’ reimagining of Shakespeare’s comedy, lovers and fairies collide beneath a moonlit forest in a whimsical celebration of love, set to Felix Mendelssohn’s score performed live by the Austin Symphony Orchestra. More info and tickets at balletaustin.org.
